Smokey But Stoked: Shambhala 2017 Begins!

And so it begins. After 20 years of growing, building, dedicating lives, careers, relationships, hours, pilgrimages and everything in between, this weekend we celebrate one of the greatest festivals in Canada: Shambhala, and its 20th birthday.

To address the growing concerns from patrons onsite regarding the close proximity of forest fires in the West Kootenay’s – we are happy to report that after touching base with Britz Bitz, Communications Coordinator, the festival is in constant communication with fire departments and emergency responders in the area. Yes, it is a smokey one today and smells more like a campfire than fresh air, but we feel both safe and confident in the festival’s emergency response plan. So just chill festival friends, and let us hope that we can stay on the farm for the weekend and revel in the birthday celebration that spans 2 decades.
