Monster Energy presents “Pre Halloween Burner” w/ Stickybuds, Neon Steve and BMID

Venue: Distrikt Nightclub

Tickets: $15 for the First 100, On Sale now at Lyle’s Place – Strathcona Hotel – Ticketzone This is a 19+ event.

Doors: 10pm

Details: Lately I’ve been loving the talent that has burned through Distrikt Nightclub on Thursday nights and this Halloween Pre-Party will be one for the books. BMID has let it slip that he will be opening things up with some spooky drum and bass tunes along with some haunting electronic hip-hop. Our hometown hero, Neon Steve plans to enchant us with his supernatural bass-heavy tunage and I have no doubt that Stickybuds, will bewitch us with a beastly array of music genres such as DnB, Glitch Hop, Funk, Raggae and Breaks. Start All Hallow’s Eve early this year! Want to win FREE TICKETS? Check out my ticket give away and enter to win two free tickets to the show. Winners announced by 10am on Thursday October 29th.

2Friday October 30th

Fear The Funk ft. Illvis Freshly, The New Groovement, The Funkee Wadd and Dia-Nos

Venue: Lucky Bar

Tickets: $10 presales, tickets available at Lyle’s Place. $15 at the door. Also available online here. This is a 19+ event.

Doors: 10pm

Details: This little shop of horrors will be featuring an array of genres from funk, house, to hip-hop, bass music, beatboxing, and soul–a little bit of everything makes for the perfect poison. The New Groovement, Illvis Freshly, and The Funkee Wadd have summoned the spirits of dance many times together, therefore ensuring a strong supernatural bond between them, leading to psychically connected performances when playing a show together. D2BD Collective plan on “freakifying and funkifying Lucky Bar for this deliciously evil evening” and The Funkee Wadd  promises to play “Thriller” at some point for us in the night. The New Groovement is releasing their vinyl record “The Orange Album” at the show and will provide an otherwordly performance featuring a full band including eerie horns, bloodcurdling vocals and paranormal percussions creating a cauldron full of energetic, and thrilling music. The night will end off with the vampy Illvis Freshly who will dazzle the crowd with their masquerade of good looks only to lay down some spine-chilling lyrics and heart-stopping beats. There will be prizes for best costume so make sure to choose your costume wisely for this one!

The Night Before Halloween, brought to you by Atomique Productions and Degree One w/ Pigeon Hole, The Gaff and Bryx.

Venue: Sugar Nightclub

Tickets:  $20.00 – Available at Lyle’s Place and Ticketfly This is a 19+ event.

Doors: 9pm

Details: This night boasts treats from Sacred Herb and Visuals tricks by EMP Interactions. Trick-or-treating for adults! I plan to get there early to hear BRYX who has told me he will play a brew of new music of his own concoction as well as a few collaborations. He also tells me these are the ingredients to the perfect Shambhala Vibe Potion so make sure to get there nice and early! The Gaff, who has an upcoming release of his own 45 in December, will most likely terrify the crowd with ghoulish goodies like breaks, hip-hop and frightening funk. The headliners, Pigeon Hole, will no-doubt put a spell on you as they wave their magic-music-wand over the dancefloor with heavy, bass-driven hip-hop tracks. Get ready to dance all night long with this gruesomely good line-up of turntable superheroes.

Saturday October 31st

Freaks Come Out ft. Don Keydong (of Righteous Rainbows), Cascadia Sound (Dub Gnostic & Rozek), Potashnick, Yoseff and Rowan.

Venue: Sunset Room

Tickets: $20 advance tickets at Lyle’s Place – $25 at the door. This is a 19+ event.

Doors: 10pm

Details: Prepare to be mystified by this graveyard of DJs who the promoter suspects “may have collected some weird gems that are a little too left-field to drop at your usual party or nightclub. The idea with Freaks Come Out is to explore the different sides of techno and house that we don’t normally get to hear.  I expect things will lean less towards dark themes and more towards a bent surrealist sort of vibe as the artists performing on the night all have a good sense of humour.” Want more candy in the bag? This show will have the PK Sound Pro-Line system in full frightening force! Sounds as good as trick-or-treating and hitting the house with the full-sized chocolate bars to me!

Whether you’re a believer or not, this Halloween’s lineup is sure to scare you out of your monster onesie and stupefy your feet into an all-night-dance-trance.  Each evening is bound to supply you with a trick or treat no matter what time you arrive with your coven. So get ready to party, play safe, and don’t forget #bettyandkoralovesyou!
