LP of the Day: Separate Mind – OAK

Describing his sound as “bass music with a dash of soul and paprika,” Cole Edwards aka OAK from Calgary, AB has an impressive catalogue of self produced jams.

Originally this post was planned just to feature one of his tracks as our ‘Track of the Day,’ but we were vibing too hard with the entire Separate Mind LP that it was tough to pick just one.

Released at the start of 2015, the title comes from Edwards’ differing approach to creating each track, how his mind is never linear and conforming to one thought pattern or style when producing his music, thus “a separate mind.” The result as you can hear is a diverse and expansive sound that still blends back into itself. Believing music should be free to all those who enjoy it, the LP is a free download to anyone who likes what they’re hearing!

Favourite tracks: “Don’t Cry Baby” and “Heart of the City.”
