For as long as Festheads have stomped the grounds of music festival venues, drugs have been present and at the forefront of festival organizers’ planning strategy to keep fans safe. The discussion of drugs at music festivals grabbed headlines in 2013 after a series of tragic deaths at these events. In an on-going effort to educate fans and prevent tragedies, The Festival Lawyer and harm reduction organization, Dancesafe, are joining forces to encourage healthy discussion of the topic.
The Festival Lawyer is a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor, who combines his love of music and his love for the law to give you legal and practical advice that will make you a safer, more responsible festival-goer. DanceSafe’s mission is to promote health and safety within the nightlife, rave, and electronic music communities by using harm reduction and popular education as guiding principles.
