While partying, communication is key. If your anything like Betty and I, a good indication that you’re having an awesome time is when your vocal chords start to quiver and become a little hoarse. Therefore, as the music starts to blast at your favorite festival the most effective way to communicate and save your voice is to establish key hand signals. Coach Kitty and I took a few photos at Sasquatch to demonstrate: today we will begin with the “It’s a BLOWOUT”
1) A BLOWOUT: “a blip in the radar of energy at any given time, whether it be in a positive or negative direction” -Galen Lofstedt
In other words, when someone is stoked on life and having a good time, it’s a blowout. If the ziplock bag full of vodka that you snuck in your bra explodes and dribbles wet, potent smelling liquid all down your shirt, it’s definitely a BLOWOUT. When you run into someone who is absolutely amazeballs that you haven’t seen in years—or maybe just lost for a few hours—it’s a BLOWOUT!!! Starting to get the picture?
A BLOWOUT can also be used to describe a certain type of party. Have you ever been over-prepared for a festival with an excessive amount of bamboozal, a mountain of snacks impossible to plow through in 4 days, and maybe a few extra party favours that don’t travel well across the border? This has certainly happened to us a few times, thus THE BLOWOUT PARTY was born. On the last night of every festival we invite all our friends—old and new—to our campsite for the final BLOWOUT PARTY: EVERYTHING MUST GO!! No one can sleep until the mission is complete.
Stay tuned for our next photo where we will demonstrate the signal for “MIND BLOW”.
